Europe thrives on diversity and being close to its citizens. Therefore, cross-border cooperation, developing innovative European projects, exchanging experiences and transferring information throughout all of Europe is especially important.

EU funding, and therefore financial support, is available for these kinds of activities in social, business and cultural areas.

Here is an overview of all international projects processed by Standortagentur Tirol so far in the last few years:

2010 - 2013

Practice-oriented integration of product creation and design in the final processing stage in the timber industry in North, East and South Tyrol

The (wood) craft industry in North, East and South Tyrol produces high-quality products. Unique aspects, which would provide professional product design in line with market trends, are often not used or not used purposefully. This market situation in the (timber) industry can be improved by strengthening the integration of product creation and design in finding products and styles.

Content and Objectives
Alps4EU is a European project funded by the INTERREG IVB Alpine Space Programme with 13 project partners from 6 Alpine countries (Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Slovenia and Switzerland). The objective of the project is to strengthen cross-border cooperation between clusters in the key sectors of Renewable Energies, Mechatronics, New Materials and IT.
The regional clusters are linked to each other by establishing international structures with meta-clusters. This should encourage knowledge transfer between the different Alpine regions, therefore increasing the competitiveness of the participating companies and research institutes. The strategic objectives of each cluster in the Alpine space are analysed and recommendations given to improve the political framework. More information at www.alps4eu.eu
