Snøhetta Studio Innsbruck ZT GmbH

Snøhetta kick-started its career in 1989 with the competition-winning entry for the new library of Alexandria, Egypt. This was later followed by the commission for the Norwegian National Opera in Oslo, and the National September 11 Memorial Museum Pavilion at the World Trade Center and the redesign of Times Square in New York City, among many others. Snøhetta has also had an office in Innsbruck since 2011. More than 250 employees from over 30 nations work at the firm's offices in Oslo, New York, Innsbruck, Paris, Adelaide, Hong Kong and San Francisco. Since its inception, the practice has maintained its original trans-disciplinary approach, integrating architectural, landscape, interior, graphic design and product design into its projects. Snøhetta does not cultivate a recognisable style, nor does it commit itself to formalisms. Rather, the designs are characterised by an intensive examination of the site, the context, its history, the building task, the client and the possibilities for future users.
