The Medical Technology Cluster of Business Upper Austria, the Upper Austrian Business Agency, is the main interface between industry, science and medicine. In total, the MTC's network consists of approx. 230 partners, whereby the MedTech-Cluster's aim is to bring together relevant players from the MedTech-industry in order to doing business together, i.e. becoming mutual cooperation partners in either regional, national or international projects.
The MedTech industry is a future market with high innovation potential, strong competition and promising market development. Especially in Austria, more and more founders and entrepreneurs identify the high market potential of healthcare in general and MedTech in particular. Consequently, the MedTech-Cluster also targets companies which are active in fields like materials, mechatronics or IT and who are interested in entering a new field of business by opening their own MedTech-unit.
Since 2002, when the Cluster was founded, there has been a total number of 86 ideas, coming from MedTech stakeholders, which were turned into successful projects.
