ATM Abfallwirtschaft Tirol Mitte GmbH

ATM (Waste Management Association Mid-Tyrol Ltd.) defines itself as service organization for its 104 municipalities in the district of Innsbruck-Land (IL) and Schwaz (SZ). As non-profit organization all waste-management issues from marketing of certain collected waste streams at municipal collection sites to consulting and accounting are provided to its municipalities. Through this work ATM is well connected to private waste disposal entities as well as public authorities in Tyrol (provincial government of Tyrol) but also in Austria (e.g. Environmental Ministry of Austria, Austrian organization of waste associations,…). As a result ATM is a key driver in municipal waste development and involved in several innovative and policy making activities outside its territory. Besides ATM is running a waste sorting plant (50% share) together with IKB (Innsbrucker Kommunalbetriebe AG - municipal waste management company City of Innsbruck) at the border of Innsbruck. Operator is AAG (Abfallbehandlung Ahrental GmbH). There the household and bulky wastes from districts Innsbruck-City, IL and SZ are separated into various fractions and recycled. Constant optimization in order to separate important secondary raw materials is performed.
